» Experimedia distribution  [Feb. 13, 2010]

Experimedia, a label and mailorder in Ohio, US, expanded their operations to full-fledged distribution in the territory of North America. We happily signed up with the fresh distributor on physical distribution. Experimedia is operated by Jeremy Bible, a musician himself, also a designer and photographer working for many labels. Experimedia's next release is a CD album by Aaron Martin slated for March 2010.

» Mixed by Yves De Mey  [Feb. 13, 2010]

Yves De Mey is a Belgian composer and sound artist whose CD album Lichtung on the Line label was hailed by listeners worldwide. He is also known as a person who often plays behind the decks. One of his recent experimental DJ sets featured Yui Onodera's Entropy and Tamaru's Figure along with many other tracks including an unreleased track of his own. The recording is now available at MNML SSGS.

Related releases of Tamaru and Yui Onodera are now ready for shipping from Trumn mailorder shop.

Tamaru's nine-year vintage full-length solo bass improvisation Basso Continuo CD and his band Installing's Saraswati 3" CD are from 1050. Shuku-sai CD-R, the third and latest release on 1040 for electro-acounstic compositions, presents another side of the musician. Those releases from the sibling labels run by Tamaru are also about to be in stock at US-based mailorder Floor Sugar.

Radiance is Yui Onodera's latest corraborative CD release with The Beautiful Schizophonic that came out this year. Through the courtesy of France-based Basses Frequences label, buyers of this sentimental album will get a giveaway compilation CD-R entitled Drones, Tones And Various Repressed Emotions that features ten tracks by ten artists who have released on Basses Frequences.

We started in a distribution partnership with A-Musik, the Cologne-based record store and distributor that has been an important hub for experimental music scene in Europe since 1995. A-Musik is also the headquarters of several labels operated by the people in-house. Figure by Tamaru and Entropy by Yui Onodera are now available at A-Musik and other shops they do bussiness with.

» Yui Onodera performing live  [Sep. 05, 2009]

On Sunday, September 27th, Yui Onodera performs live at the basement of a seventy-year-old building in Tokyo. The concert is organised by CMFLG, and the headliner is Brussels-based composer / sound artist Yves De Mey whose CD album Lichtung came from the Line label early this year. Onodera teams up for the first collaborative set with Yukitomo Hamasaki, the head honcho of Tokyo-based mAtter label. Also on the bill is a sound-visual duo called Exportion. » Entropy on Arctic Circle Radio  [Sep. 04, 2009]

Yui Onodera's tracks were on London-based Arctic Circle Radio operated by Ben Eshmade. On August 26th, the one-hour-long weekly programme the HUT edition 12 and edition 13 respectively featured untitled track #7 and untitled track #10 from our reissue of Onodera's Entropy album. » Dani Baquet-Long (1983-2009)  [Jul. 11, 2009]

On July 8th, our friend Dani Baquet-Long of Celer / Chubby Wolf passed away at the young age of 26. Dani and her husband Will Thomas-Long have given ungrudging support to our label activity with heartfelt friendship. We sincerely thank Dani for her support and music she created. We extend our deepest condolences to Will and the grieving family.

Our reissue of Yui Onodera's Entropy is named Album of the Month for July, 2009 by the Tokafi webzine organised by journalist / musician Tobias Fischer in Münster, Germany. The article now available is by the editor-in-chief Fischer himself, who also published three other feature articles about Yui Onodera in the past two years. [See related items on the article page]

» Figure on Quiet Space  [Jun. 15, 2009]

Early this morning, Figure was broadcast on ABC Radio National headquartered in Sydney, Australia. The Quiet Space presenter Paul Gough a.k.a. Pimmon put Tamaru's bass improvisation on the air, giving the highest kudos to the album. The tracks featured in a row were Plateau and Juju. The Brutal memory figure edition is now online for listeners out of range and those who passed the airtime sleeping.

» Featured on Soundscaping  [Jun. 11, 2009]

A feature article by Trym Asserson on Trumn and our first two titles is now online at Soundscaping, a webzine run since 2005 by two Norwegians of the writer himself and his co-founder András Szolnoki. They launched Soundscaping Records in 2008 and the year end saw their inaugural release – the beautiful seven-track CD album Air Resort by a Brussels-based French artist Christophe Bailleau.

» Figure airplay in Italy  [May 20, 2009]

Following Yui Onodera's Entropy tracks two weeks ago, Cathedral from the album Figure by Tamaru aired on Radio 3's Battiti programme at midnight on May 18th. Nicola Catalano played the album's fifth track in full and in a voiceover-less manner. The podcasting is now available. The radio show host creates another opportunity to review Figure and Entropy in Blow Up's upcoming June issue.

In the early morning of May 18th, Yui Onodera's Entropy aired on Sydney-based ABC Radio National. The Quiet Space presenter Paul Gough picked up two tracks from our reissue of Onodera's debut album. Gough is no stranger to experimental music listeners for his moniker Pimmon, whose new album came in the March. For a limited time the Quiet Space broadcasting is available on demand on its website.

Hard Format Yui Onodera | Entropy Tamaru | Figure

Figure by Tamaru and Entropy by Yui Onodera have been featured on the music design website Hard Format by UK journalist / photographer Colin Buttimer and designer Justin Amphlett. Hard Format covers beyond the familiar formats of CD, DVD, and vinyl disc, but it's sure that everything featured is something tangible and fragile. Those values are what never be obtained by something shared online nor something burnt under the table.

Buttimer runs another website named EleventhVolume, which archives his works including a large amount of his writings contributed to an array of print or online media.

» Entropy airplay in Italy  [May 05, 2009]

Late at night on May 4th, Yui Onodera's Entropy aired on a Radio 3 programme Battiti. Radio 3 is one of the three radio stations under the Italian public service broadcaster RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana). The host of the midnight radio show was Nicola Catalano, a journalist also known for his regular contribution to the Blow Up magazine. Battiti provides listeners worldwide with the contents via podcasting.

» aspidistrafly Asia tour  [Apr. 08, 2009]

We worked on a long distance collaboration with Singaporean music and design label Kitchen. for the artwork of Figure by Tamaru and Entropy by Yui Onodera. Kitchen. directors Ricks Ang and April Lee are best known for their musical project aspidistrafly, who are in the midst of touring 6 cities of Bangkok, Macau, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kuala Lumpur.

Ricks and April have arrived in Japan where they have 3 rounds. aspidistrafly are performing live at HOME Shibuya on April 18th, UrBANGUILD Kyoto on the 29th, and SuperDeluxe Roppongi on May 2nd. The full details are here.

Our first releases have been available at stores in Japan. Tower Records Shinjuku (9th floor in the Flags commercial complex) features Figure by Tamaru and Entropy by Yui Onodera, installing a multi-face display along with a trial listening system.

» Inaugural releases in the coming March  [Dec. 31, 2008]

Trumn is proud to annouce 2 full-length album releases – Tamaru's newly-recorded bass improvisation Figure [cat# T01], and the awaited reissue of Yui Onodera's Entropy [cat# T02] which was originally issued on Critical Path in 2005 with a very limited number of copies. Each CD comes in an oversized cardboard sleeve.

Those 2 titles are going to be distributed nationwide through our distributer P*dis and available in shops in Japan from March 15th, 2009. Overseas distribution subsequently happens.
